Special Needs Care for San Gabriel Valley Residents

Thanks to modern medicine and research case studies, we have been able to learn more concrete information about people born with special needs, like Autism, Down Syndrome, and Asperger's. In addition to our knowledge of these mental illnesses, our treatments of them has also progressed. Around the 1950's, when there was limited knowledge on such diseases and when the ethical standards were not as we see them today, medical professionals forced patients with special needs to undergo barbaric practices. In addition to these ill thought out practices, patients would also have to endure from the rest of society isolation and mistreatment.

Fortunately, we have come a long way since then and are now more aware of how these diseases function int the brain. We are more aware of the needs and methods of treatment for children diagnosed with such conditions. We, here at A-1 Home Care, are also educated on such needs and are ever striving to learn as much as we can in order to better serve families. Our Special Needs caregivers, in turn, have taken it upon themselves to  provide the most efficient care they can to make clients feel safe and secure. Whatever the need, be it 24 Hour Care or Overnight, our in home and live in home helpers will be able to bring the best homecare for your child and your family.

National Heart Awareness Month/ A-1 Home Care San Gabriel

Happy Heart Awareness Month! For this week, A-1 Home Care will be focusing on proper heart health practices.

Did you know that heart attack and heart disease is the number one killer of seniors and adults in America?

In the main type of heart disease, a fatty substance called plaque builds up in the arteries that bring oxygen-rich blood to the heart. Over time, this buildup causes the arteries to narrow and harden. When this happens, the heart does not get all the blood it needs to work properly. The result can be chest pain or a heart attack.

Most cases of stroke occur when a blood vessel bringing blood to the brain becomes blocked. The underlying condition for this type of blockage is having fatty deposits lining the vessel walls. These plaques are built up due to consumption of saturated fats and habits such as lack of self care, exercise and smoking.

A-1 Home Care takes pride in arranging compatible and affordable caregivers around Southern California. We have holiday caregivers available for the busy times during Christmas and New Years.

Call us anytime if you live in San Gabriel, Arcadia, Temple City, Rosemead, Pasadena, El Monte, Azusa, Monrovia, Duarte, Baldwin Park, or Los Angeles.
